ABOUT DR ALEXA EDGLEY
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years experience working in a wide range of mental health settings and with a wide range of mental health problems. I have extensive experience of working with individuals and groups, and in addition to being an independent practitioner, I work as a Clinical Lead for a large London NHS Trust.
I also provide supervision to other Psychologists, CBT therapists and trainee practitioners.
Psychology is my second career. I spent 10 years working in finance in the City of London before embarking on my Psychology degree at Royal Holloway, University of London, in 1998. I studied for my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Surrey, qualifying in 2004. Since then, I have worked for NHS primary care mental health services in Surrey and London and started my independent practice in 2008.
I have a passion for psychology and bring that passion to therapy. I am trained and experienced in a wide range of evidence-based, psychological approaches and use this breadth of knowledge to develop a unique and client-centred treatment approach for each client.
I feel it is really important to work collaboratively with each client, incorporating each client's expert knowledge about themselves, as well as respecting their goals, values, culture and differences.
